Why you need to try our Shampoo Bars

Shampoo bars are not a new idea. But now more than ever, society is becoming aware of the need to reduce plastic and packaging. As this awareness is growing, shampoo (and conditioner) bars are coming into the spotlight.

Solid Shampoo Bar

I grew up in a tidy home, with one bottle of shampoo, and one bottle of conditioner in the shower to use for washing my hair. This was provided by my mom, and I never questioned what brand was in there, or the fact that I needed shampoo and conditioner. That was back in the 80’s and 90’s. I remember when the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner came in a single bottle, that was pretty neat and made less work for the person showering. Occasionally the shampoo bottle would be empty before my mom had a chance to buy a new one. On one of these occasions, I tried washing my hair with the bar of soap that was on the shelf. The result was strange, stiff, heavy hair that still felt very dirty once it was dry. Those are the experiments you only do once.

A few months ago, my aunt received a shampoo bar as a gift, and she was very excited about the fact that a shampoo could come as a solid bar without a plastic bottle. At the time, I had never considered trying a solid shampoo. I quickly went to YouTube and searched for people who were using shampoo bars, and reducing packaging in their bathroom routines. What I saw, I liked, and their bathrooms were tidier than mine. I quickly went to the local store where I knew I would find shampoo bars for sale. I went home and washed my hair at the soonest opportunity.

Within 3 washes over a few days, my hair was heavy, sticking to my forehead, and wouldn’t respond to my flat iron in the slightest. This is when I started researching about shampoo bar ingredients. I make soap, and most shampoo bars I found use the same process and similar ingredients.

But one very key note here is that soap is for skin, shampoo is for hair.

With some research, persistence, and even a little luck, I was able to procure a shampoo bar from 100% SHAMPOO ingredients. I made myself one tiny little bar to start with, as my confidence in shampoo bars was not exactly strong. After one wash, my hair felt like it did after washing with my normal liquid shampoo. Several washes later the results were consistent and I was thrilled!

Not only are these sweet little bars effective for cleansing hair, they are delightfully eco-friendly too! My recipe is suitable for all hair types. If you have oily hair, you may want to wash more than once. If you have dry hair, try washing just the roots every other wash. Also, be sure to include my conditioner bar in your hair care routine. The conditioner bar has a blend of deliciously nourishing butters and oils that make hair feel silky soft. Skip the bottle and give these a try!

I have very dry natural curly hair, which is 90% grey. It is very dry and needs a lot of hydration. Tell my why I should buy your bar shampoo.
I have been using bar shampoo and conditioner for 6 months now, and I love the hydration but it’s from the U.S. I’d rather buy from Canada
    Thank you
